lyrics
Come on now, can you feel it? when you touch it does it seem real? I’m going to tell you the story of an innocent man, although he’s made of plastic he’s doing the best that he can, come on now, what does it mean? Investigate it and come clean, he’s got a problem, he’s got nothing new to say, and when he turns his back they call him Mr. Cliche, he plays some southern rock like Gregg and the Allman boys, there’s a twang in his talk even though he’s from Illinois, Tied to the whipping post, i been tied to the whipping post...let’s do it, let’s expose him, humiliate him without his clothes on, I’m going to tell you the story of a typical man, let’s celebrate him, he’s just like us, he wants to fit in and not be frightened, this is the tale of an everyday average joe, look in the mirror, does he look like someone you know? He’s part of a movement and he’s giving back to the land, his mission statement , to be as mediocre as he can be, how can you blame him? He wants a title, he wants to be on American Idol, come on now, just concentrate on, was this some honest participation? I want to tell you about the story of a person you know, take away commercials and the ominous, luminous glow, you might just recognize him from being on the tv, take away the lighting and make up and he looks just like me
