downtown Oakland looking shaky tonight
its not the sideshow that scares me
its the dudes over there in the pale moonlight
I got some business on Franklin Plaza, some stuff to unload
and then I'm off to Macarthur Boulevard
the urban jungle is dense on a late friday night
the cops are everywhere, the smell of chicken wings and ammo, its pungent


here comes the head shot

i hear some rounds go off and I duck
i hear the sound of screaming and hot tires screeching
Two more rounds and we all hit the dirt
but its only a celebration
of some latent inequality
while in the uptown buildings
the suits decide
who will live, who will die and who will ever serve time

and then I saw on the news that even in Norway there was a shooting, a stabbing
and people in the street protesting the way
that others looked down their noses at them
You might think you can hide
and move to the country

the flak jacket is fine
