it may be the longest day so why not make it the best day?
i woke up on the first day of summer, the sun beat down but i was still kind of cold, i met the day with a certain surrender but i looked in the mirror and i tried to be bold and i told myself, you’re good, you’re a healthy human being with a lot to offer you’re not ugly, you’re not fat, yes, you are older but present yourself with a grace to behold
i went to work on the first day of summer the boxes were heavy and the work job was hard, i did my best like i do every day there, lifting the melons and trimming the chard, so i told myself, slow down, enjoy what you do, there’s only one life so go ahead and have a good time, pace yourself and hold a little back, its good for your soul and the sun kept shining inside and out
