I was out with Joe on a Saturday night
When I surprised myself and I started to run the table
The speakers croaked an old song by Eric Burdon and War and I started singing.

But much to my dismay my blood sugar dropped low and I missed some easy shots
My feet were still bopping but my poor head was drooping
Then Joe began to make his comeback

Well I was fine and doing so good
then I crashed and spilled the juice
It wasn;t wine but it might as well be
The floor started moving and I lost control

The fact that me, an overfed, retired old geezer could lose it so fast
No, that was no longer news
This had happened before and Ive got plenty of stories, rather embarrassing ones in fact

I could feel hot flames of fire roaring at my back
I got pretty lucky and I made two in a row
But our luck had changed and I saw Joe smile
He could see the end coming and the chant began
